Breath 'Self'

The subject is the Self.

In Kubisa’s new works she applies her artistic endowment to paintings that wallow in the strength of pain and force the breaking of moulds. Some moulds self-imposed, some ingrained from society.

The process unblocks sensations, distant memories and examines trauma and outdated patterns, which purge out through uncontrollable breath. Making space for new patterns to form. The pause captured, waiting and watching for the chaos to expel.

Balanced and Unattached

The grip leaves, shedding engrained patterns from a blocked head and body. Destroying her past works, the breaths have been cut out and ripped, the remains pieced together again. Forming new  uncontrollable bursts of breath to release out dated patterns and male block. An ode to artist George Baselitz.
